PLEASE FOLLOW THE CITY’S RULES OF RECYCLING

The City’s trash hauler, Republic Services, informed us late last evening that due to excessively contaminated recycling loads, Casella and Waste Management will no longer accept contaminated recycling from the City of Brockton at their facilities. This could have a severe impact on the City as there is no other destination to dump the city’s recycling.

Beginning Thursday, August 31st, Republic will begin rejecting recycle bins with any contamination and they will not go back for any bins once they have been rejected. The resident will have to wait until the next recycling schedule for a pick-up. Residents may bring bottles, cans, cardboard, and paper to the Recycle Depot at Oak Hill Way if their carts are rejected.

Please follow the rules about what can and cannot be accepted in your recycle bins. It is critically important to ensure that your recycle bins are emptied in a timely manner.

Thank you for your attention.
