Brockton has a variety of programs, activities and services available for youth. Open spaces and athletic leagues provide fitness and sportsmanship opportunities for young people, while the Brockton Mayor’s Youth Council offers an avenue for service and leadership.

Youth Employment

Working Papers

Working papers may be obtained at the Brockton Public Schools' administrative offices at 43 Crescent St. between 2 and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Working papers are only allowed to be issued to students during non-school hours, but you can also during vacation weeks or in the summer (8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.). Here are the guidelines as provided through the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office (which oversee the young workers' program).

Brockton's Promise

Brockton's Promise Alliance for Youth works toward providing all youth, and their families in the City of Champions with the tools they need for success. Started in 2003, and modeled after America's Promise, Brockton’s Promise focuses on five “promises”: caring adults, safe places, a healthy start, effective education, and the opportunity to help others. Brockton After Dark

For more than a decade, the Brockton After Dark program has offered a safe, supportive environment on weekday summer evenings, where youth can participate in athletic and enrichment activities while connecting with peers and mentors, all at no cost.
