How to Report Potential Hazards in Brockton’s Public Spaces

RESIDENTS SHOULD NEVER ATTEMPT TO HANDLE POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS ITEMS ON THEIR OWN. USE THE INFORMATION BELOW TO PROPERLY REPORT ANYTHING THAT REQUIRES IMMEDIATE REMOVAL.

Did you stumble across an item that may be dangerous? Do not touch it. Use this list to report it to the appropriate agency:

  • Any item that poses a safety risk, such as a weapon, contact the Brockton Police Department at 508-941-0200. This includes any item that could cause physical harm, such as a gun (even if you think it is a toy gun), a bomb, or a knife. If you believe there is an imminent safety risk, call 911. DO NOT TOUCH, PICK UP, OR MOVE THE ITEM.
  • Any item which may contain blood or other biohazardous waste, such as a hypodermic needle, report to the Brockton Fire Department/Brewster Ambulance hotline at 508-583-2323 or the BAMSI COPE Center at 508-583-3405 for safe disposal. DO NOT TOUCH, PICK UP, OR MOVE THE ITEM.
  • Playground equipment, such as broken swings:
  • All other hazards, or if you are unsure, contact the Mayor’s Office at 508-580-7123. A staff member will direct you.

For safety issues that require an immediate response, call 911 or the Brockton Police Department’s main line at 508-941-0200.
