Brockton Will Host TWO Soccer Watch Parties in June

The City of Brockton is gearing up for a summer of soccer and celebration thanks to a generous grant from the Healey-Driscoll Administration through the Massachusetts Sports and Entertainment Events Fund Grant Program. The city will host two historic international soccer watch parties, bringing the community together to cheer on Cape Verde and Haiti on the world stage.

As home to the largest Cape Verdean population outside of Cape Verde, as well as a vibrant and sizable Haitian community, this rare cultural moment is of great significance to Brockton. The watch parties will spotlight games featuring both national teams, creating an exciting and meaningful experience for residents and visitors alike.

  • June 24 at 6:00 pm Haiti v. Morocco
  • June 26 at 8:00 pm Cape Verde v. Saudi Arabia (the city will also show Norway v. France at 3:00 pm)

The match screenings will take place at Campanelli Stadium, home of the Brockton Rox. Tickets will be required for seating at the stadium. More information is forthcoming.

FREE family activities, soccer tournaments and clinics, vendor marketplace, food trucks, and performances will take place at Brockton High School making it a true celebration of soccer, culture, and community.

“The excitement is palpable,” said Mayor Moises Rodrigues, Brockton’s first Cape Verdean mayor. “This is only Haiti’s second appearance in the tournament, the first coming more than 50 years ago, and Cape Verde’s first-ever appearance. It’s only fitting that Brockton celebrates this historic moment with our community.”

The City thanks its partners in planning these historic events: Brockton Rox, Black Owned Brockton, Cape Verdean Association, Haitian Community Partners, Brockton Youth Soccer, Massachusetts Youth Soccer, Boston Legacy FC, Brockton FC United, Brockton Area Transit.
