At Hike & Hops, explore beautiful trails and local breweries with Wildlands Trust! This month, join TerraCorps Land Stewardship Coordinator Eamon Horrigan and volunteer Rachel Thibeault for a hike at Wildlands Trust’s Brockton Audubon Preserve and The City of Brockton’s Stone Farm Conservation Area. Observe the stunning ecology and learn about the agricultural past at Brockton’s largest remaining green spaces. Take this opportunity to chat with Eamon and Rachel about volunteer opportunities on these trail systems, then join us for a social hour at Shovel Town Brewery in Easton after the hike. Shovel Town has a variety of their own beer on tap, as well as a variety of snack plates and sandwiches available. Details: The hike is roughly 5 miles long over easy to moderate terrain and will take roughly 2.5 hours. Ages 12+ are welcome. All participants should be accustomed to walking 5+ miles. Hiking shoes and long pants are recommended. Bring water for the hike and snacks if needed. Parking: We will meet in the Hancock Elementary School on Pearl Street. Please arrive no later than 9:45 am for a 10:00 am hike start. After the hike, participants are responsible for driving their own vehicles to the Shovel Town Brewery (50 Oliver St, North Easton), about a 5-minute drive. Dogs: Dogs are welcome on the hike, but must be on-leash and under the owner’s control at all times. Dogs coming to group hikes should be friendly to all people and other dogs, and should not disrupt other hikers. Unfortunately, dogs are NOT allowed at the Shovel Town taproom so please plan accordingly.
