Cut and Paste: Exploring Collage through the works of Lorraine O’Grady

April 27 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

In partnership with the Davis Museum at Wellesley College, and to celebrate their spring opening of Lorraine O’Grady: Both/And, Fuller Craft Museum welcomes you to a night of craft! Join us to learn about Lorraine O’Grady’s legacy from Dr. Semente, Curator of Education and Public Programs at the Davis, before diving into a collaging and scrapbooking activity, which draws inspiration from prominent works such as Art Is.., Cutting Out the NYT, and Miscegenated Family Album. Learn more about the exhibition here.

Participants are encouraged to bring some of their own family photos as we consider our identities against the backdrop of O’Grady’s life with specific attention to race, geography, gender, family relationships, archival practice, and memory. You will receive a commemorative polaroid photo at the end of the event.
