Moises M. Rodrigues, a progressive voice for all Brocktonians, is a community activist experienced in advocacy, organizing, municipal affairs and community resource building.

Moises has over 25 years of experience as a manager and administrator in operations and social services, including serving as the Director of Communications and Community Services for the City of Brockton, a position he held in Mayor Harrington’s administration.

He is currently employed as the Child Protection Specialist for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston.

He is an active community activist involved with many local organizations, serving on the Board of Directors the Cape Verdean Association of Brockton.

He serves on the Board of Directors of Old Colony YMCA, the St. Edith Stein Community Council, and served on the Board of Directors of Brockton Community Cable Television, where he continues to produce a local cable program for the Brockton area communities, “Arco-Iris.”

Mayor Rodrigues was member of the Brockton Public Schools Superintendent selection committees in 1998 and 2004, and is a former member of Cape Verde’s National Parliament, elected in 2001 to a 5 year term. He was honored in 2005 with the Distinguished Alumni Award from Brockton High School.

Family: Wife of 31 years, Maria Lobo-Rodrigues; three daughters: Megan, Marissa, Mariah, and grand-son Josiah!

Military Service: U.S. Navy (1983-1989)

Education: Studied Human Services and Community Relations at the University of Massachusetts, and is in the process of completing a Masters in Applied Linguistics at UMass-Boston

Professional Associations: Certified Spa/Pool Operator, HIV Counselor, Substance Abuse Counselor, Massachusetts Medical Interpreter Association, Child Passenger Technician, Brockton Community Police Academy and the District Court Academy.
