Please join us for the next Discussing Douglass event on Friday, August 22 at 10am where we will honor Anna Murray Douglass, a remarkable woman and first wife of Frederick Douglass. Learn how she played a crucial role in his life, helped him escape slavery and supported the family financially! Also, we will have the exquisite 8′ X 10′ Liberty Tree quilt on display. All are welcome to this free event.

Discussion features Anna Murray Douglass (March 8, 1813 – August 4, 1882) who was an American abolitionist, member of the Underground Railroad, and the first wife of Frederick Douglass, from 1838 to her death. Come learn about this remarkable woman and discuss her role in the life and work of Frederick Douglass.
