From bucket brigades to the first pumping engine
In 1827 the growing town of North Bridgewater bought its first piece of "modern" firefighting equipment. With the purchase of the town's first pumping engine, the transformation from the old "Bucket Brigades" to the development of the modern fire station had begun.
- 1883 The first electrified fire station wired by Thomas Edison
- 1996 The BFD celebrated 150 years of service
- 2009 Squad A turned 100 years old in 2009
- 2017 Upgraded to ISO Class 1 Department
