OLD BUSINESS

1. 1 JONATHAN DRIVE
Requested by: Ethan Coulson, CEO/President of GTR Manufacturing Request/Issue: We are a local business, GTR Manufacturing, and we have been growing. We would like to have the NO PARKING signs in front our building on 1 Jonathan Drive removed to allow employees to legally park in the street. (Nearest Poles # 4, 5 & 6)

SUBCOMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION:
A. Rescind the NO PARKING regulation on the south side of the street in front of GTR Manufacturing only.
B. Remove the NO PARKING THIS SIDE signs currently on Pole’s # 4, 5, and 6.
C. The NO PARKING signs at the end of the road near the cul-de-sac will remain.

2. 292 AMES STREET
Requested by: Councilor Lally
Request/Issue: Would like to extend the existing guardrail on the northwest corner of the intersection of N. Cary Street and Ames Street to help prevent accidents and protect the back yard of 292 Ames Street.

SUBCOMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION:
Extend the existing guardrail on the west side of N. Cary Street alongside this address at least two panels northerly past Pole #1-84.

3. 41 UPTON STREET
Requested by: Brynell Francis-Smikle
Request/Issue: My seven year grandson who I am legal Guardian is diagnosed with Autism, ADHD and ODD. He’s a runner, ran away twice, wears an ankle tracker which is monitored thru the Brockton Police Dept Program. He has the tendency to ride his bike and run in the street. Would like a traffic sign across the street. (Received medical documentation)

SUBCOMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION:
A. Install a WATCH CHILDREN sign (W-401) on Pole #2-84 (by 27 Upton St.) for northbound traffic.
B. Install a WATCH CHILDREN sign (W-401) on Pole #4 (by 46 Upton St.) for southbound traffic.

4. 27 THATCHER STREET
Requested by: Jacquelyn DeGrace
Request/Issue: Requesting a handicap sign for myself and my husband (handicap placard received)

SUBCOMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: After speaking with the resident, take no action. The resident with the HP placard will park in the driveway, which is big enough for two vehicles and can accommodate visitors.

5. 631 N. MAIN STREET AND 651 N. MONTELLO STREET
Requested by: Jonathan Booker
Request/Issue: No visible School zone ahead signs on N. Main Street or N. Montello; No visible school crossing sign near crosswalks next to Trinity Catholic school and School zone speed limit with flashing beacons are outdated and faded. Requesting School Ahead, School Crossing and School Zone flashing beacons updated. (Traffic Commission members see attached CDM Study Engineering Study)

6. WEST CHESTNUT AND LINWOOD STREET
Requested by: Jaime Berrezuta
Request/Issue: This is a very dangerous intersection. It is also very time consuming as it takes between 10/15 minutes every day to turn especially when it’s busy. The light at this intersection doesn’t change color, it only flashes. Requesting a traffic light that changes color (red, yellow, green). (Traffic Commission members see attached CDM Study Engineering Study)

7. 900 ASH STREET
Request by: Captain Mark Porcaro (BPD/Traffic Commission) on behalf of Principal Kelly Kistler, Kennedy School
Request/Issue: Principal Kistler would like a review of the current crosswalk location that extends from the school over to Michael Drive to see if it can be relocated so that it will no longer interfere with the school’s driveway. (Traffic Commission members see attached CDM Study Engineering Study)

NEW BUSINESS

8. SOFO LOFTS/POST OFFICE
Requested by: Nathan Lackey
Request/Issue: Asking to have a flashing crosswalk sign put in at the crosswalk near the entry of Soco Lofts and the Post Office. Many pass by without even stopping, even if you are in the crosswalk.

9. 17 NORTH WARREN AVENUE
Requested by: Karen Waweru
Request/Issue: Requesting for an oncoming traffic mirror since the house is a blind spot and not able to see traffic when driving out of residence.

10. 15 LENOX STREET
Requested by: Manny Teixeira
Request/Issue: I am asking that the signs on the Lenox Street side of 584 Pleasant Street be reviewed. The property has not been a daycare since 2014, so the “No Parking” sign may no longer be needed. The “Slow” sign should remain to help reduce speed.
