SPECIAL LICENSE COMMISSION MEETING
5:30 P.M.

Virtual ZOOM Meeting

The License Commission held a Special Meeting on Monday, April 6, 2026, via ZOOM. Present were, Commissioners Janet Landerholm, Abraham Belice, Christine Derome Lt. David Farrell, Deputy Chief Weeks and Executive Assistant Silvia Carvalho.
- Hearing on a request from Jonathan Colon for a Special Event Permit for a City of Champions Tactics and 5K Road Race to be held on April 12, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. beginning and ending at 80 Perkins Avenue.
Present was Mr. Jonathan Colon of 28 Burwell Street, Brockton, MA.
Mr. Colon stated they would like to host a 5K race. Commissioner Landerholm opened the meeting to the public and asked if there was anyone in favor or opposition, and if there were any elected officials that would like to be heard. He closed that portion of the hearing and opened it up to the Commissioners. Lt. Farrell asked Mr. Colon to coordinate with Captain Porcaro on road closures, it is a small group that is running.
Deputy Chief had no objections from the fire department, and asked Mr. Colon to follow police guidance. Commissioner Derome asked Mr. Colon if it is a ticketed event and will there be food? He replied, no just a 5K. They have 36 runners and is hoping to get same day registrants, so maybe 45-50 people total.
A motion was made by Commissioner Derome to approve the permit. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Belice and made unanimous by vote of the members present.

- Hearing on a request from Brockton Baseball Association for a Special Event Permit for an Opening Day Parade to be held on April 25, 2026, with a rain date of April 26, 2026, from 9:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. beginning at Boiling Catch on Crescent Street and ending at the Downey School on Electric Avenue.
Present was Ms. Rene Stewart of 48 Ames Road, Brockton, MA.
Ms. Stewart stated they are hosting their Opening Day Parade from Boiling Catch to the Downey School. Commissioner Landerholm opened the meeting to the public and asked if there was anyone in favor or opposition, and if there were any elected officials that would like to be heard. He closed that portion of the hearing and opened it up to the Commissioners. Lt. Farrell had no objections from the police department, and asked her to coordinate with Captain Porcaro. Deputy Chief Weeks had no objections, and asked her to follow police guidance.
A motion was made by Commissioner Derome to approve the permit. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Belice and made unanimous by vote of the members present.

A motion was made by Commissioner Derome to adjourn the meeting. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Belice and made unanimous by vote of the members present.
