cute dog on blue background with caption dog licenses expire on April 30Here are three reasons to license your dog:
1. It’s the law in Brockton: all dogs residing in Brockton must be licensed.
2. It proves your dog is vaccinated for rabies (required in Brockton): this is for the safety of your dog and other creatures around him/her, including you!
3. Your dog has a better chance of being returned home if lost. Does your dog have an wanderlust? The license identifies the dog and the owner, providing peace of mind for a quick reunification if your dog is found.
There are two ways to get your dog license in Brockton:
1. In person: visit the Elections Office at City Hall. Don’t forget to bring documentation if your dog is spayed/neutered, and a rabies certification.
2. By mail: fill out this form and print it out:
Mail it back to the office (Elections Office, Brockton City Hall, 45 School Street, Brockton, MA 02301). Include your payment, documentation of spay/neuter, and the rabies certificate. Your dog’s license will be mailed back to you.
