Robert F. Sullivan has served as a Councilor At-Large since 2006 after being elected in November of 2005. He was unanimously elected to the position of City Council President in 2008, 2014 and 2017.

Born in Brockton on April 27, 1970 and raised in Ward 2 on Wellington Street, he is the son of Robert and Susan Sullivan. His Dad worked in the City as a high school history teacher and his Mom a registered nurse.

He attended Brockton public schools (Whitman Elementary School, West Junior High) and graduated from Brockton High School in 1988. He graduated from Boston College (1992), obtained his law degree from the New England School of Law (1996), and received an M.B.A. degree from Boston College (2001).

Robert volunteers his time as a Board Member for the Good Samaritan Medical Center (Brockton, MA). In addition, he coaches youth basketball (Brockton Community Schools), baseball (Brockton West Youth Baseball League), and soccer (Brockton Youth Soccer Association).

He is a member of the Brockton Democratic City Committee and the Brockton Historical Society.

Councilor Sullivan, an Attorney, lives in Ward 1 with his wife, Maria (Luizzi) Sullivan, and their three children.
