Forward Into Light – Brockton Honors 100 Years of Women’s Suffrage – a virtual event

August 26, 1920 is the day Congress signed the Women’s Right to Vote, 19th Amendment into law. In celebration, Brockton City Hall will be lit up on August 26 2020 in the suffrage colors of purple and gold in a ceremony that is part of the nationwide Forward Into Light campaign, led by the Women’s Suffrage Centennial Commission in Washington, D.C.. The night will include lighting many landmarks and buildings across the country in purple and gold including the Library of Congress and National Archives in honor of the historic suffrage slogan, “Forward through the Darkness, Forward into Light.” Enjoy the Brockton City Hall lighting at 8:00pm along with tributes from many Brockton area community leaders on line at: https://www.facebook.com/BPLsuffragecelebration
