Join us to honor Lou Montgomery, Brockton High, ’37, Boston College, ’41
Lou Montgomery, an outstanding athlete, scholar, and gentleman, continues to inspire the next
generation to tackle racism, and to work together for social justice.
Saturday, April 25, 2026, 10am-12pm
Rocky Marciano Stadium, Brockton High School
- Fun: stickers, face painting, coloring contest, football and basketball tips from Brockton high school and Boston College athletes, films and photos of Lou Montgomery, beverages and snacks
- Run: 3K run around the track, and receive a Lou Montgomery t-shirt
- Bring your family and friends, learn about Lou Montgomery’s life, and share your own stories!
From the time Lou Montgomery was a young athlete growing up in Brockton, MA, through his college years, as a member of the 1940 “Team of Destiny” at Boston
College, Lou Montgomery, the first Black athlete at BC, courageously taught by example and helped forge a path for young people today, faced with being “the only,” or
“the first.”
