Notice is given that there will be a Special Joint Meeting of the City Council and the School Committee on August 5, 2019 at 6:30pm  in the Council Chambers, 2^ND FL of City Hall, 45 School St., Brockton, MA, 02301. The subjects to be acted upon are as follows:

1. In accordance with Sec. 36 of the City Charter, the City Council and the School Committee shall meet in joint convention to fill the vacancy in the Ward 2 School Committee to fill the unexpired term. All interested persons who desire to be considered by the Joint Convention of the Brockton City Council and Brockton School Committee to fill the vacant position of Ward 2 School Committee Member submit to the City of Brockton, Office of the City Clerk, 45 School St., Brockton, MA 02301 no later than 4:00pm, August 1, 2019; a letter of interest, together with a resume as to the applicant’s background and qualifications. Kindly note that any person applying for the vacant position of Ward 2 School Committee Member shall be at least eighteen years of age; prepare to complete the remaining School Committee term; and a City of Brockton resident of Ward 2. In addition, any qualified applicant whose submission is filed as described above may choose to attend and be provided three(3)  minutes to speak before the Joint Convention between the Brockton City Council and Brockton School Committee for the purpose of filling the above vacancy which is scheduled to take place at 6:30pm on Monday, August 5, 2019, Brockton City Hall. 45 School St., Brockton, MA 02301, within the Brockton City Council Chambers.

• In accordance with M.G.L., Ch. 43 Sec. 59A, the City Council shall meet and vote to fill the unexpired term of Councilor-At-Large position. All interested parties may submit a resume or letter if interest to the City Clerk’s Office, 45 School St., Brockton, MA and attend the meeting. All candidates must reside in the City of Brockton and be a registered voter. Public welcome.
