The Brockton Symphony Orchestra presents, "Invitation to the Dance," a Family Concert, on March 12th at 3:00 p.m.at Christ Congregational Church, 1350 Pleasant Street, Brockton. The program includes works by Johann Strauss, Jr., Tschaikowsky, Grieg, and Rossini.
Featured in the program is eleven year old cello soloist, Hayden Idson from Brookline. Among the many honors Hayden has received are: Honorable Mention at the 2015 Brockton Youth Competition, and second runner-up of the 2016 New England Philharmonic Young Artist Competition. Hayden will play Tschaikowski's s Pezzo Capriccioso, Op. 62.
Soloist Wayne King, a Canton resident is in his ninth season as principal Trumpet of the BrSO. He has performed with the Wellesley Symphony, Quincy Symphony, Opera Providence, among others. Additionally, Wayne has accompanied the Jubilate Chorale, and the Canton Choral Society. Mr. King has organized and performed in the BrSO's chamber players for seven years.
* Featured in this concert is the AMERICAN DEBUT of William Perry's "TWO DANCE PIECES FOR TRUMPET AND ORCHESTRA'. Mr. Perry, an American Composer, has scored over one hundred films and five stage plays. It is with pleasure and pride that the BrSO presents this debut, with our own Wayne King on Trumpet!!!!
