in paving the way for sustainable economic development.
Brockton was recently highlighted in Boston Globe Magazine as one of the top Five
Hot Communities for First Time homeowners . Additionally, Channel 5’s Chronicle
identified an urban renaissance where young professionals are relocating to Brockton
and starting up small businesses.
The Brockton 21st Century Economic Development Corporation, established by a local
initiative and passed by the Massachusetts Legislature, plays a vital role in retaining
jobs and businesses as well as aggressively seeking new businesses and jobs to Brockton.

The Corporation is a private non-profit economic development agency that has a unique
partnership with the City of Brockton to maintain Brockton’s strong business climate.
The Corporation is made up of 25 dedicated members to form its Board of Directors
and has in its short history, an established track record of success. Mayor Balzotti,
City Councilor Timothy Cruise, and Chief Financial Officer Jay Condon
all serve on the Board.
