Water distribution sites have run out of water. We have ordered additional pallets of water that will arrive at West Middle School at 8pm.

The City of Brockton will be conducting water distribution at the following locations from 4pm to 7pm: Water will be limited to (1) case per family.
** East Middle School
** West Middle School
** North Middle School
** South Middle School

On May 27, 2015, the City of Brockton experienced a major water main break that disrupted normal water flow and operation. This has caused low to no water pressure, impacts to flow for fire protection, and a boil water order. Until the boil water advisory is lifted, all users are asked to eliminate all nonessential water use until the situation is resolved. This includes:

  • irrigation of lawns via sprinklers or automatic irrigation systems;
  • filling of swimming pools;
  • washing of vehicles; and
  • washing of exterior building surfaces, parking lots, driveways or sidewalks

Effective 9am Wednesday, May 27th, 2015 Mayor Bill Carpenter has declared a State of Emergency in the City of Brockton

Due to the water emergency, Brockton High School will be dismissed at 11:00AM. Parents of middle school and elementary school students are urged to dismiss their children from school, if they are able to do so. Students who are not dismissed, will be kept in school until the regular dismissal time.

The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection has issued a boiled water order for the City of Brockton and other areas affected by this water main break. It is anticipated the order will remain in affect for the next 24 hours, or longer. Do not drink or use tap water for human consumption. Check periodically for any further updates.
